LESSON PLAN: Not On My Watch!
This Lesson Plan offers ideas for classroom activities (or workshops with young people) based on reading Isabella Rotman’s Not on My Watch! zine.
Depending on the time you have with your students, you may choose to...
Only do a few of these activities or omit some of them.
Have students read the whole zine before class and get through a summary of the material in one class period, or get through all of the material in a 2-3 hour workshop.
Choose to make each section a different class period and have students read the selected portion either in class that day or before class that day.
This lesson plan is designed for you to pick and choose activities (or, ideally, do it all!)however your schedule or group works.
Note: this lesson plan is designed for a teacher who is comfortable and moderately experienced in teaching about consent and sexuality. Unfortunately, this lesson plan cannot be comprehensive enough to cover all of the ins and outs of teaching about such a tricky topic, but is to guide facilitators in using the zines as a teaching tool.
